This year, they made it happen again. It is an international event staged in over 22 countries in 4800 communities worldwide with over 3.5 million participants, is an overnight community based cancer awareness and fundraising event. You can read all about it here.
Relay For Life KL 2008 was held on 31st May-1st June, the weekend of World No Tobacco Day and International Cancer Survivor's Day, at the MSN Training Stadium, Bukit Jalil. Boy, there was also TV3 Carnival's program conducted at the same time! Imagine the traffic!!! We were stuck even before the parking entrance.
Well, the Relay For Life was fun. There was a huge crowd participating and even the T-shirts for the public finished by the time we registered!!

These are some of the very enthusiastic people who kept walking around the field for the overnight event. This is actually the whole idea of the event!
It was a great night with performances, some strong vocals from Anita Sarawak, Jacqueline Victor from Malaysian Idol, pageant contest of man dressed as woman, line dancing and lots of other entertaining activities to keep the adrenaline draining all the night. Here's the part I liked most.

People can convey their messages through plain paper bags and light them up along the edge of the field. Here's how they do it :-
